The Story of Northwest Pet Resort in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Family Owned & Operated Locally When we founded Northwest Pet Resort, we set out to change the status quo in the industry. We knew that it was possible to successfully bring together, under one roof, everything we valued: compassionate care for pets, educating pet owners, superior quality pet products and foods, and giving back to the community.

MEET THE ANSEL FAMILY

Meet the Ansel family! The Ansels are a Coeur d’Alene family that strives on a sense of family and community.

Husband & wife duo-team, and the co-founders of Northwest Pet Resort own and operate their facility near Downtown Coeur d’Alene ID alongside their 5 comrades in life.

Scott & Ashley Ansel founded Northwest Pet Resort back in early 2010, and continue to work hands-on each day since in their hometown to build a future for themselves and their family.

THEIR TWO SONS & DAUGHTER

The parents’ two oldest, duo-brother team Dinoahsaur & Ninjacob (Noah and Jacob) spend their days skateboarding, practicing Taekwondo, and caring for their more youthful sister!

Cynthia, the newborn, was introduced into the world and the Ansel family in June of 2019.

For over 9 years, the Ansels have remained protected by a beautiful Siberian Husky named Akira. She is the oldest furry member of the family.

THE ANSEL'S TWO FURRY CHILDREN

In 2013, Akira was rescued by the Ansels and has been a long-standing member of the Ansel family. Day-to-day, Akira loves playing with friends and brother, Okami, at NW Pet Resort.

Okami is a Bend OR sourced Siberian Husky that was added to the family in 2019 and is considered the family’s most recent addition! He enjoys long walks with his brother and family in Downtown Coeur d’Alene & Tubbs Hill.

HOW NW PET RESORT GOT STARTED

Northwest Pet Resort was founded with the passion to change the industry and to serve you through your pets.

Rather than an anthropomorphic approach which is too often the case, Northwest Pet Resort brushes all of that aside to satisfy your pet’s needs through their psychology and gives them their primal enjoyment that too often has been overlooked or buried since domestication.

We wanted to help you navigate through the hype of fads that often create a sense of overwhelming when it comes to the nutrition and wellness of your pet. This is exactly why we created the boutique component of Northwest Pet Resort. Our facility is your one-stop-shop for ensuring your furry friends are well taken care of long term.

To welcome your questions and help you create a healthy routine and diet for your pet was the catalyst that has provided so much fulfillment and joy to us.

GIVING BACK IS IN OUR FAMILY’S COEUR VALUES

Leveraging the blessing of our facility’s success is the foundation of Northwest Pet Resort. To sew back into the community through donations to local and national pet causes was paramount to us!

Our family has been fortunate to widen the scope in our effort to give back by adding a percentage of sales to humanitarian efforts globally as well.

Finally, dear to our hearts had always been the heroes out there who keep our communities safe, and because of that, we knew we needed to put forth a thank you to as many K9 Teams that we could by offering a program to feed each of the working dogs from departments in our region for free each month. The reasoning for this is to allow their funds could be allocated elsewhere to keep our communities safe.

Since starting this program Northwest Pet Resort has increased to feeding thirty K9 teams every month and we couldn’t do it without your help!

The reasoning for this is so that their funds can be allocated elsewhere to keep our communities safe!
